"Wishing well" (Jones / Alfonsi-Jones-Haroutiounian)

Things get hard here in the winter
When the land is bleak and bare
When the cold bites like a splinter
And the food becomes so rare
You stay low until it's over
And to make it through you'll need a prayer
Then the spring comes with the clover
And the scent of flowers fills the air

If you're lost and need assistance
Then we must meet at the wishing well
What's up-most in your existence
You're one of us, and we wish you well
So you must have the resistance
When will hard times end now-one can tell

Working hard here in the springtime
Plough the land and seed with care
But it's worth the trouble sometimes
If the weather's warm and fair
Get a good harvest in the summer
And to thank the lord you'll say a prayer
Count your blessings in September
Hope it'll be enough when winter's here

But there's always help nearby
You can always have faith, in the evening sky

If you're lost and need assistance
Then we must meet at the wishing well
What's up-most in your existence
You're one of us, and we wish you well
So you must have the resistance
When will hard times come now-one can tell
Na na na
If you're lost and need assistance
Then we must meet at the wishing well
What's up-most in your existence You're one of us, and we wish you well
If you're lost and need assistance
Then let must meet at the wishing well
What's up-most in your existence
You're one of us, and we wish you well
If you're lost and need assistance
Then we must meet at the wishing well
